5 * Getaway in the g Hotel

So we are just back from a 5* getaway in the g hotel in Galway! I cannot even begin to tell you guys how amazing our stay here was. Right from the very beginning we were looked after and made to feel so welcomed. I thought I would write you guys a review of our stay so that you can see how amazing it is and find out all about it – and maybe you can go try it out for yourself, you will not regret it! When we first arrived we were met by a Valet man who took our car and drove it to the car park for us, as well as taking our luggage up to our rooms for us – it saved us the hassle haha! Beware though – they charge you for this! So be prepared to say no if you don’t want a 15 Euro charge. The reception area was probably my favourite section of the hotel. It is so modern and has a real elegant feel to it. There is orchid flowers everywhere with candles lit as well as a lovely fish tank which is so relaxing to sit and watch all the fish. The floor is so glitzy too – definitely Insta worthy! The main lounge area is AMAZING. It is so elegant and modern… just look at the pictures. I want my front room to look like this! It was so relaxing to just sit here and just watch the world and enjoy a coffee or two.

The Rooms in the g Hotel

The rooms at the g hotel are absolutely magnificent! There are different types of rooms, ranging from superior rooms to penthouse suites. We stayed in a superior double room.

Whether you are traveling for business or grabbing a romantic break in Galway, the Superior Rooms are a perfect haven of comfort and convenience. We didn’t want to leave our room it was that relaxing and homely. All the rooms are uniquely designed by Philip Treacy and have a real elgant feel to them.

Our room had a king-size bed and and looked out onto a retail park (however some rooms look out onto gorgeous view of the lough. The bathroom features a combined shower and bath with complimentary ESPA toiletry products – which smell amazing! There is also Wi-Fi throughout the whole hotel, and all rooms have Smart TVs, a desk, fridge, safe, bathrobes and slippers. There is nothing these rooms don’t have!

ESPA Spa at the g Hotel

Oh the spa – where do I begin! Let me just start by saying… WOW! I used the Spa during our 5* Getaway in the g Hotel for one day during my stay and it was absolute bliss! I felt super relaxed and replenished by the end and I didn’t want to leave the place.

The g Hotel is home to a Luxury 5-Star Spa and it really is a 5* experience. The spa offers a wide range of treatments and massages to suit each persons need. The ESPA is situated over two floors of the hotel, with pampering spa treatments and relation rituals designed to enhance your wellbeing and relaxation. I used the Thermal suite which features a vitality hydro pool which has different water therapy jets and jacuzzi effects, a steam room, rain showers, a sauna, an ice fountain (to cool yourself down once you have finished in the sauna or steam room!), heated loungers and a relation room which overlooks the rooftop Zen bamboo terrace. It is absolutely amazing and the perfect place to relax, unwind and revive your body and mind! I fell in love with the place as soon as I entered. I went during the week and enjoyed the thermal suite all to myself, however the weekend can be busier so just bear that in mind! The only problem is that it costs to use the Spa – it is 10 Euros for guests staying at the hotel and this is for one hour only. That would be my only downside to this place- but it’s a small one!

You can also make use of the Gym at the g Hotel too which is small however features a few cardio machines, resistance machines as well as a selection of free weights. I didn’t get time to use the gym as I spent all my time in the Spa hahaha! So maybe next time!

Gigi’s Restaurant in the g Hotel

We enjoyed a delicious complimentary breakfast each day during our 5* Getaway in the g Hotel and it was absolutely delicious! I would say one of my nicest breakfasts I have experienced- and believe me I have experienced a lot! Breakfast is served each day between 7am – 10:30am. I went down at various times and found it was never too busy – almost on the quiet side! However, bear in mind that this was during the week so on weekends it will be a little busier. Breakfast is served in the main restaurant and there is a wide range of options, including a special gluten free menu! You get to choose one main hot breakfast item which includes a choice from the following: omelettes, syrup pancakes, a Irish fry, poached egg on toasts, porridge and lots more! This is made and served to you fresh, therefore it can take a wee while so be prepared to wait -after all you are at a 5* restaurant! There is then a continental buffet selection which features: fresh juices, toast, fruit, pastries, cereal, yoghurts etc! The choice is endless and you will never go hungry! Breakfast was legit what I looked forward to most each day hahahah!

You can also have your lunch and evening meal at the restaurant in the hotel. It is called Gigi’s restaurant. We just had dinner here one evening and it was very nice! My husband and I both had a two course meal for around 33 Euros. It was delicious and you even get free bread to begin with which is served with three tasty dips (I can’t exactly remember what they were but they were amazing!) Oh and I forgot to say…. the restaurant is the best hotel restaurant in Galway and has won various awards! I saw a couple enjoying afternoon tea in the hotel one afternoon and it honestly looked like a real treat – so I would highly recommend that if you are looking for a special treat.

So guys, I hope you enjoyed reading my review of our 5* getaway to the g Hotel. I hope it makes you want to have a wee trip to Ireland, as it is TOTALLY amazing and so worth it. You will never have a 5* stay quite like this one! It is just so unique and full of glamour! Click here to find it on Trip Advisor and check it out.
