Smoothie Season – Avocado smoothie!

So you guys asked me if I could start sharing with you all a few of my favourite go to recipes! So I thought, why not start with a good old smoothie recipe, one which I adore… and its an avocado smoothie!

The Ultimate Green Avocado Smoothie

The Ultimate Green Avocado Smoothie! Made with avocado, banana, kale, almond milk and protein powder (optional). Top with pistachios for an extra special treat! This green avocado smoothie is vegan, vegetarian, gluten free and dairy-free!

I typically always start my weekday mornings rushing around, trying to get ready. And that means there is little time for breakfast most days! I am usually found to eat something quick in the car, or even worse… go without eating anything! Weekends are often a different story though as brunch is often on the cards at some lovely cafe! Anyway, with such a busy start to the day, a quick and easy breakfast recipe is completely essential.

This green avocado smoothie is one of my absolute favourites!! I sometimes even make it in advance and then freeze it so It can just be ready for when I have a busy morning. I just make a big batch of the recipe and pour into mason jars, and keep frozen… yes its as simple as that! A lifesaver! When I’m ready to have the smoothie, I just make sure I keep it out to defrost for up to two hours, or else heat it up In the microwave for 1 minute. This green smoothie is the ULTIMATE healthy breakfast recipe.

Pack of 6 glass drinking jars

Benefits of green smoothies:

  • They are quick to make
  • They’re delicious
  • They are packed full of nutrition
  • They are filled with dark left greens, such as kale and spinach which are very good for you.
  • They are full of healthy fats, vitamins, minerals and antioxidants!

How to Make the smoothie:

Combine the avocado, kale, almond milk and a banana into the blender. Add in your favourite protein powder (I use a vanilla one) to make the smoothie creamy!

I always use the brand ‘My Protein‘ and my favourite protein powder they do is the Impact Whey protein Powder as it tastes absolutely amazing and is low in sugar and fat, as well as vegetarian friendly. It also comes with a whopping 21g protein per serving!

What other fruits could you add to an avocado smoothie?

To be honest… I always throw in anything which I have in my fridge! But banana pairs perfectly well I find. I often add anything from: apples, oranges, pineapple, mango or blueberries… whatever floats my boat!

P.S- I use this blender and it is AMAZING for making smoothies!

Ideal for making them yummy smoothies!
